About Fiona Montgomery
(Fee Monty Photography)
Born in the central king country of New Zealand, i grew up loving the natural beauty around me and with a deep affinity to horses.
I was gifted my first Pony "Goldilocks" (a palomino mare) when i was almost 14 years old. Growing up seeing what an exceptional horse woman one of my older sisters (Sandra) was.. I wanted that too.
At 14 years old, during a traumatic time in my life, I was hired as a groom for the school holidays by the late Vicki Cropp. Residing at Waikato Hunt club & kennels between shows I had the best summer of my life. Vicki Taught me so much and restored my confidence and self esteem. i will be eternally grateful to her!
I originally chose a career in the Dairy industry and worked/lived all over the country, from the Waikato to Canterbury. I have always had a passion for photography.
After settling in Invercargill in 2014 I yearned for a career change. I one day though "life is too short to be stuck in the drudge of a boring job".
So with the total support and a little nudge from the best man on the planet, (My darling partner Gavin), i began studying for my Diploma in digital photography at the Southern Institute of Technology. I was on the track to doing what i love.
I am interested in several aspects of photography. Technically i am a freelance photographer, however and have chosen Equine photography as my specialist field.
I like to please my Clients by producing Beautiful images, and only the best will pass the grade and go on to be offered for sale.
